Structured reading over the summer break benefits the students by supporting language development, comprehension and it sparks the imagination! Therefore, CIS Library is offering our summer reading program, the Bookworm Club Challenge, to students from Grades Pre-K through Grade 4.
Students who complete the challenge will receive a book as a gift as well as a Bookworm Club Challenge Certificate of Accomplishment.
Here's how to participate in the Bookworm Club Challenge:
1) Choose 5 books that you have never read before.
2) Then fill out this Registration Form by Wednesday, 14 June.
3) Read the 5 books over the summer holiday.
4) Download and complete the Reading Records and Activity for each book read
5) Deliver the Reading Record and Activity to the library by Friday, 25 August 2017.
Please note: Only students who will be returning to CIS for the 2017-18 school year can participate. In order to receive the certificate and the book, your child MUST submit the 5(five) completed Reading Records to the library by Friday, 25 August 2017..
In grades Pre-K through Grade 1 students read with or to an adult. Students from Grade 2 to Grade 4 may choose to read by themselves or with an adult. You are welcome to visit the library with your child to select books. Please tell the library staff that you are participating in the bookworm club challenge when checking out the books so the date due can be extended to 25 August.
You are responsible for returning these books to the library by Friday, 25 August.
