The Arts

The Arts play a central role at CIS. There's always something going on: a benefit concert, an art exhibition, sounds of rehearsal wafting from the music rooms...

News from the Arts at CIS

The second annual Art of The Spoken Word evening at the Edison Theatre was an outstanding experience for all. Congratulations to the 25 performers in grades 6-8 who showed incredible talent, poise and passion on the stage. The breadth of material was also inspiring, with students reciting their own poetry or telling original stories, or reciting famous poems and speeches, or performing classic movies scenes and Shakespearean monologues. The stage performance was complimented by an engaging art show in the lobby before the show, which highlighted the creativity and originality of 10 art students in grades 6-8. Many of these students were also on hand to discuss their artwork with parents and other guests.

Footage of last year's event, which took place at the Betty Nansen Theatre in Frederiksberg, edited by grade 8 student Lisa Stapper.
