Copenhagen International School (CIS) looks forward to opening our doors to this year’s Summer School Program from June 19 - 30, 2017.

The Copenhagen International School Program is open for CIS students as well as students from other schools who would like to experience instructions in English. We have put together a variety of different classes within foreign language acquisition, English as an additional language, science, writing, movement and dance and sports.

The students will enjoy the use of our new-state-of-the-art purpose-built classrooms and sports facilities at our new Nordhavn Campus

The classes will take place every day from 09:00 -15:00.

All classes are taught in English, but there will be Danish-speaking staff available on campus.

The EAL classes are designed for students who are not native English speakers, or new to English or have some experience with the English language and would like to build on their English language skills.

Students can join the program for a full day or choose to join for mornings or afternoons only.

Students can sign up for 1 week or 2 weeks. The classes will not be taught as a continuation from one week to the other. However if there are students in the language classes who sign up for 2 weeks we will ask the teacher to differentiate the instructions.

Dates

Summer School 2017 will run for two weeks:

Week 1 (June 19 - June 23)
Week 2 (June 26 - June 30)

Age Groups

There will be programs for three age groups.

Early Years Program is suitable for children between 4 and 7 years old.

Primary Years Program is suitable for students aged 8 to 12 years old

Middle Years Program is for students 13 to 17 years old.

Housekeeping

Registration
Each Monday students are required to meet up by the Reception area at 08:45 – 09:00 for registration. Students attending afternoon sessions are required to meet at Reception area on Monday from 12:45 - 13:00 for registration.On rainy days we will gather in the Admissions room by the entrance before classes start.

Early Drop-Off
From Tuesday to Friday we offer the option of early drop off with playground supervision from 08:30.

Lunch
Students can use our cafeteria and pay for a hot meal (35DKK) or a sandwich. Throughout the day fruit and juice will be available to all students in the program.

Picking up your child
You should arrange for your child to be picked up from the school's Reception area at either 11:30 if only attending the morning sessions, or 15:00 if attending all day.
Only children with a completed permission form will be allowed to leave by themselves when classes are dismissed. Permission forms will be distributed to parents on the first day.

Clothing
Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions, and bear in mind that there are some painting activities.

Sport
Please make sure that you bring the appropriate clothing for use in the gym. For sport please bring a T-­shirt, shorts and socks and a clean pair of sports shoes for use in the gym. Outdoor sports shoes should also be brought. A water bottle is recommended.

Leaving school premises
No one will be allowed to leave the school during the normal operation of the Summer School day. If a student needs to leave early during the classes the parent and the students are to meet at the Reception Area for pick up.

Terms and Conditions

Code of Conduct
The summer school is meant to be fun and enjoyable. It is in everyone's interest for this to be a success. Any conduct which disrupts the enjoyment of others will be dealt with as follows:

  • First there will be a verbal warning given by the summer school coordinators.
  • A second incident will mean that we ask your child not to return for the remainder of the summer school. NO REFUND will be given in such a case.

Smoking and the consumption of alcohol are prohibited in the school.


Payment:
A student is not registered for the Summer Program unless payment has reached us by the deadline specified on the payment link. See details below.

Cancellation of Classes
We reserve the right to cancel classes if they are undersubscribed. If this happens you will receive a full refund.

Fees and Payment Information

Fees:

1 week full day 3000 DKK,
1 week of morning activities or afternoon activities 1500 DKK

As a special offer you can have 2 weeks of full day activities for 5000 DKK.

A student is not registered for the Summer Program unless the payment has reached us within one week of receiving the invoice.

Payment
Parents/Guardians will receive an e-mail containing a payment link within a week of registration.
